Company History 

Located in Madison, Wisconsin, Meridian Furniture Company operates as the wholesale and commercial division of Chalet Company LLC, along with Chalet Ski & Patio, our retail partner and sister company.

Chalet Company was founded in 1972 by a small group of furniture developers who shared a passion for quality, design and value. Starting as a single retail store in Des Moines, Iowa, the company quickly grew and expanded to 12 retail furniture stores located throughout the Midwest. In 1983, the company relocated to Madison, WI where it is still headquartered today.

By the late 1980's, the company developed a wide range of indoor and outdoor furniture lines that it sourced directly from factories in Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and the USA. During this time, the company developed considerable expertise in sourcing materials and fostered many long-term relationships with global suppliers. The company also began a wholesale business where it supplied furniture to other retailers around the Midwest. 

Meridian Commercial Furniture Company 

In 2006, the Company built a large distribution center in Belleville, Wisconsin, to support it's growing business. The Company formed a separate division called Meridian Furniture Company to focus exclusively on our wholesale and commercial business.

At that time the Company started manufacturing and distributing higher grades of outdoor furniture designed to meet the needs of commercial and contract buyers. This includes hotels, clubs, resorts, restaurants, institutions, as well as apartment and condo developments.

We stock a wide range of commercial grade outdoor furniture and we provide white glove service and replacement parts for our customers throughout the country.
